THE ASHLEY PITTMAN FOUNDATION

Purchasing a piece of Ashley Pittman Collection jewelry directly supports Kenyan artisans, their small businesses, villages and families, positively impacting a rural community plagued with drought in southeastern Kenya through fair trade practices. Ashley Pittman donates 10% of all profits to help fund a rural health center and primary school in an area of Kenya that has lost all means of income and sustainability over the past four years.The Ashley Pittman Foundation has provided Kathiani Primary School with not only food, but also a source for clean, de-salinated drinking water – for many students, this is their only access to water that is safe for consumption. In addition to funding basic necessities, the Ashley Pittman Foundation sponsors two additional teachers for the students and is proud to report that the renovation and construction of new classrooms has begun. The school has the capacity to enroll over 300 children in grades Kindergarten through 8th Grade and services a ten-mile area. The foundation has also helped to open Kamboo Dispensary, a clinic serving a population of over4,000 people who previously had no access to basic healthcare; in fact the nearest hospital is a two-day trek by foot. The center is currently treating nearly 100 Malaria patients per month. Each of the above initiatives was completed using volunteer labor from surrounding villages.
