John Iversen

John Iversen creates natural jewelry due to his life-long fascination of the environment, which is visible in every piece he designs. John's organic jewelry is expressed through his use of leaves, flowers, pebbles, baskets, seeds, and water. He explains that "jewelry has its own emotional experience", "a very basic primitive instinct".

Originally from Hamburg Germany, John Iversen migrated to New York in 1978, where he still resides today. He has been creating jewelry for more that 20 years. John was awarded the George Jensen Award at the Smithsonian Craft show in 2001 and the Excellence in Crafts Award at the Baltimore ACC crafts show.

John Iversen displays his talent in both fine art and craft with his nature inspired pieces. He uses a certain technique called "Nature Casting", a skill developed in the 18th century that is used to create one-of-a-kind representation of a natural object. Using bronze, silver, and gold, John creates his organic forms and surfaces. Go ahead and let nature casts its spell with John Iversen.
